Hellas Verona have confirmed Emmanuel Badu has passed all fitness tests and can return to training after a pulmonary embolism.

The 29-year-old Ghana international had joined Verona on loan from Udinese in July, but he was rushed to hospital on August 14.

He suffered a “pulmonary microembolism incident” – a small blood clot in the lung, which can be extremely serious and even fatal if not treated.

Badu has been undergoing treatment for several months and has now passed the final check-ups, meaning he is allowed to resume training.
