Atalanta have confirmed the signing of Brandon Soppy on a permanent deal from Udinese.

The 20-year-old has moved to the Gewiss Stadium for €9m plus €1m add-ons.

“Atalanta BC are delighted to announce the signing of the player Brandon Soppy from Udinese on a permanent basis,” La Dea said in an official statement.

“Born on the 21st of February in 2002 in Aubervilliers, France, he is a right-footed wingback who combines speed, explosiveness and technique: thanks to his athletic skills, he is able to cover the whole right side.

“He came through one of the best European football academies, Rennes, with whom he made his Ligue 1 debut at only eighteen, in August 2020, in a match against Lille that ended 2-2. That same season saw him play his first games in European competitions, making two UEFA Champions League appearances against Sevilla in the group stage.

“He arrived in Italy one year ago to join Udinese: he ended the season with a total of 30 appearances (28 in Serie A), showing flexibility and hinting at an important potential.

“Brandon plays his international football for France and has represented them at various under-age levels. He played in the Under-17 European Championship semi-finals and finished third in the 2019 World Cup, which saw him play a key role as he completed the full 90 minutes in six games and registered 2 assists.

“Last June, he made his France U20s team debut in a friendly match against Saudi Arabia. Welcome, Brandon!”
