“In recent years, Atalanta have always been near the top of the table and are doing well again now. Serie A is very difficult, but I am happy to be here and proud to be a part of this great club.
“I’ve seen the Atalanta fans, they are very passionate, and watched a few games. I hope to have a great rapport with them in future and together we can achieve great objectives.”
The player underwent his medical and put pen to paper this evening.
It is a permanent transfer, so no loan or option to buy is involved, for an undisclosed fee.
The move is reported to be worth €4m.
Ibanez holds both Brazilian and Uruguayan passports.
