Atalanta have officially sold Hans Hateboer to Stade Rennais, ending his almost eight-year spell in Bergamo with La Dea.
The deal was completed this afternoon and he leaves the club after 245 competitive appearances, where he scored 12 goals over almost eight full seasons and provided an impressive 21 assists.
It is reported that the cost of the operation is circa €3m and he signed a contract to June 2026.
Atalanta farewell to Hateboer
The 30-year-old right-back, who with Atalanta’s three-man defence tended to play as a right wing-back or as a centre-back, first joined from FC Groningen in January 2017 for €1m.
Hateboer was part of the squad that lifted the Europa League trophy last season, the first UEFA piece of silverware in the club’s history.
They also reached the Coppa Italia Final and qualified for the Champions League in 2024-25.
He also put together 13 senior caps for the Netherlands.
Atalanta are revamping their squad this summer, also selling the likes of Caleb Okoli, Aleksei Miranchuk, Nicolò Cambiaghi, Roberto Piccoli, Ndary Michel Adopo and Nadir Zortea.
