It’s reported Carlo Ancelotti has given his final response to Milan and refused a return to San Siro.

The Coach had several meetings last week with Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani and President Silvio Berlusconi assured he was “optimistic” on the deal going through.

However, the former Real Madrid boss flew out to Vancouver with his wife on vacation and said he’d give a reply by tomorrow.

A statement released by Milan confirmed Ancelotti has now told the Rossoneri "cannot be our Coach next season."

Ancelotti said in a Press conference last week that he’d “take a year off” if he was indeed sacked by Real Madrid.

“Thanks to Milan for their support and interest. It was hard to say no to such beloved club to me but I need some rest. I wish them the best,” wrote Ancelotti on Twitter this evening.

He is also hoping to undergo back surgery to correct a long-standing health problem.

Milan now have to look elsewhere, with candidates including Sinisa Mihajlovic – who quit as Sampdoria Coach yesterday – and Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Montella.

Another option, Sevilla tactician Unai Emery, is reportedly closer to Napoli.

There are also reports that Berlusconi wants to promote current Primavera youth team Coach Cristian Brocchi with Marcello Lippi as director of sport.
