Real Madrid have confirmed Carlo Ancelotti’s contract extension until June 2026.

The La Liga giants have confirmed a two-year contract extension for the Italian tactician through their official website on Friday morning.

Ancelotti’s previous deal was set to expire in June 2024 and there were reports the Merengues would meet with the Italian tactician in January to offer him a new one-year contract.

However, the La Liga giants had already reached an agreement with the ex-Milan, Juventus and Chelsea coach and confirmed his contract extension on Friday.

This means Ancelotti is highly unlikely to take charge of Brazil’s national team in the summer of 2024.

The 64-year-old from Reggiolo has won 10 titles across his two spells in the Spanish capital, including two Champions League.

Ancelotti is the only coach to have lifted the Champions League four times and the first and only to win a domestic title in each of the top five European leagues: Italy, Spain, England, Germany and France.
