Marcos Alonso has officially been sold to Chelsea, announce Fiorentina, in what’s believed to be a €27m deal.

The Viola released a statement this afternoon confirming the move had been completed.

It did not specify a transfer fee, but it is widely reportedly to be €27m.

It’s a huge profit considering the former Bolton full-back joined Fiorentina as a free agent in July 2013.

He also had a loan spell at Sunderland in 2014.

“I’m very happy. It’s a step up in my career and I think this is the perfect place for me to continue developing. It’s time for me to win some titles,” the 25-year-old Spaniard told Chelseafc.com after signing a five-year contract.

“It was an easy decision for me to make when I heard the club were interested in signing me. My family and close friends know Chelsea is the club I have dreamed about playing for so I’m really excited about the challenge and I'm looking forward to working with my new team-mates.”
