Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that Raul Albiol has extended his contract with the club until 2020.
Reports emerged earlier in the week that Albiol would follow defensive partner Kalidou Koulibaly in signing a new deal, and Napoli have now made it official, albeit via the unusual first step of De Laurentiis’ Twitter account.
“Another coup pulled off by the trio of De Laurentiis, Chiavelli, Giuntoli. Raul Albiol has renewed for another four years until 2020,” the patron’s tweet read.

An €8m release clause is also said to have been inserted into the 31-year-old’s revised terms, although De Laurentiis made no mention of it.
