Napoli have confirmed that defender Raul Albiol has left the club to join Spanish side Villarreal.
In a statement on their official website, Napoli thanked Albiol for his ‘commendable commitment and exemplary professionalism’.
Transfermarkt reports Villarreal have paid €5m for the Spaniard, who has signed a three-year contract.
The 33-year-old made over 200 appearances for the Partenopei following his arrival from Real Madrid in 2013, winning a Coppa Italia and Supercoppa.
