“Our objective in the short-term is to give a sense of consistency to our results and that will be more difficult as time goes on,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“I am worried by the break, because although the players have been training and keeping up with their regime, they weren’t as closely monitored by my staff as usual. We’ll only really know tomorrow if they’ve kept up the same form.

“SPAL are well-organised, play good football and, above all away from home, have caused a lot of problems for bigger teams than us. We ought to be very careful, as they’re coming to Udine looking for a result.

“We’re coming off an unbeaten six-round run and this could, paradoxically, be a problem, because it can lead to a lapse in concentration. Being in the middle of a transfer window doesn’t help the situation, as there are many distractions around at the moment.”

Gabriele Angella, Ali Adnan and Valon Behrami are out of action, while Riad Bajic has already completed his loan move to Istanbul Basaksehir.

Udinese squad for SPAL: Bizzarri, Borsellini, Scuffet; Caiazza, Danilo, Donadello, Nuytinck, Samir, Stryger, Pezzella, Vasko; Balic, Barak, De Paul, Fofana, Hallfredsson, Ingelsson, Jankto, Pontisso; Lasagna, Maxi Lopez, Perica, Varesanovic
