The Friulani have been revitalised since Oddo took over, winning three on the trot between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, scoring 13 goals and conceding three.

“Inter have so many great players, it’s hard to pick one I’d take away from Spalletti,” Oddo told Mediaset Premium.

“Mauro Icardi is their centre-forward, the man who finishes off all the moves and is an important player, but I’d also look at Borja Valero and Matias Vecino in the middle, plus Milan Skriniar in defence.

“Inter are a strong unit and we’re happy to face them at full strength, then we’ll see what happens. They’ve got a really good chance of challenging for the Scudetto, because they have a winning mentality brought by Spalletti, who I admire a great deal, and of course the club has pedigree.

“Spalletti’s most valuable asset is his experience. I think that’s fundamental for the growth and development of a Coach. Spalletti was at the helm of small, medium and big clubs, including here at Udinese. He’s seen it all.”

Inter are still unbeaten this season, but were held to a 0-0 draw by Serie C outfit Pordenone at San Siro on Tuesday, going through to the Coppa Italia quarter-final only on penalties.

“It will certainly be a different Inter to the one seen against Pordenone, where they rotated the squad. We know they want to continue their march in Serie A and to stay at the top of the table.

“It’ll be a tough ask, but we will step on to the field with no fear. Respect is fine, but there must always be courage. There will be difficult moments, as in every game, and we can overcome them.”
