West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang will fly in for a Sassuolo medical this weekend after agreeing a transfer for €8m plus bonuses.

Sky Sport Italia transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the deal is done and final details were sorted out this evening.

Obiang is currently in China, where West Ham are on a pre-season tour, but will fly to Italy on Sunday and undergo a medical next week.

It is a return to Serie A for the 27-year-old Guinea international, as he spent most of his career at Sampdoria from 2008 to 2015.

He was sold to the Hammers for €6m in the summer of 2015, making 116 competitive appearances for the club.

Obiang, born and raised in Spain, had also been linked with Bologna over the last few weeks.
