Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi seems set for a move to Al Rayyan and is reportedly expected in Qatar tomorrow.

The player will, according to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, fly to Qatar on Saturday to discuss with the club.

Nzonzi is already on the outside of the Roma project but the French midfielder, who returned from loan at Stade Rennais during the summer, has one year left on his deal in the Italian capital.

Al Rayyan are hoping to close a deal with the 32-year-old, who arrived at the Giallorossi from Sevilla in August 2018.

Nzonzi spent the last two years on loan at Galatasaray and Rennes, but could follow James Rodriguez to Al Rayyan this month.

His father will reportedly accompany him to Qatar tomorrow to listen to the proposal from the Qatar Stars League side.

Nzonzi played 39 times with Roma before leaving on loan and has contributed one goal and two assists in the Giallorossi jersey.

  1. Long overdue. I thought they were crazy to spend so much on him and Pastore. Look how both turned out. A fortune lost on to players who don’t seem to bothered about their careers as long as they get paid to take it easy.
