Steven Nzonzi confirms sporting director Monchi “convinced me” about Roma, and praises captain Daniele De Rossi.
The World Cup winner joined the Giallorossi from Sevilla this summer, making the same journey the director had over 12 months previously.
“I’ve had a great relationship with him since our days at Sevilla,” Nzonzi confirmed in an interview with Sky.
“He spoke to me in positive terms about Roma, and convinced me in his way, mentioning the Coach and the project.

“Serie A is a high level league, with teams who set up very well tactically. Every game is difficult.
“We’ve had a difficult start but we have a good squad and there’s a long way to go.
“We haven’t been very consistent in the league but we are improving little by little. The important thing is to finish well to reach our objectives.”
Nzonzi was also asked about the club captain, De Rossi.
“He helped me a lot when I arrived. He gives me advice, he’s a bit of an intermediary when the Coach explains the strategy. He’s a very important player for us.”
