Nottingham Forest have submitted an offer to Roma for defender Roger Ibanez and negotiations are now ongoing, The Athletic reports.

The Giallorossi have been working to sell the 24-year-old Brazilian centre back for a number of weeks now. His departure would give them the resources necessary to bring in some reinforcements for Jose Mourinho’s squad.

Roma are in the market for a new centre forward, needing to bolster the frontline following the recent cruciate ligament injury suffered by Tammy Abraham.

As reported by The Athletic, Nottingham Forest have submitted a €25m offer to Roma for Ibanez and talks between the two clubs are now ongoing. The Giallorossi are seriously considering the bid and a clear response is expected in the coming days.

The Brazilian centre back, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, joined the Roman club from Atalanta in January 2020, initially arriving on loan before making a €9m move 18 months later. He’s made 149 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.
