Reports suggest that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is in talks with Monza as he considers a possible takeover.

The Biancorossi entered a new era in September 2018, when Silvio Berlusconi’s Fininvest purchased the club, appointing former Milan director Adriano Galliani as their new CEO. In less than four years, the duo guided the club from the third tier to Serie A.

Berlusconi passed away in June of last year, leaving the club to his family through Fininvest, and a few months later rumours emerged claiming that Greek billionaire Marinakis, who also owns Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos, was interested in a takeover.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims Marinakis is again seriously considering a possible takeover of Monza in the near future, keen on the idea of setting up a multi-club family similar to the City Group.

Talks between various parties are ongoing and there could be updates in the coming months. Galliani, who recently turned 80, is known to be a fan of Monza and is proud of the project at the club.
