Nottingham Forest aren’t content with signing Remo Freuler, as they are also now pushing for Atalanta players Hans Hateboer and Ruslan Malinovskyi.

The Premier League new boys have been spending big this summer to completely revamp their squad.

That included a surprise purchase of Atalanta captain Freuler in a deal worth circa €9m plus bonuses.

Bergamo continues to be their shopping venue of choice in the final days of the transfer market, because reports suggest they are now going for another two of Freuler’s former teammates.

The main target is Hateboer, the 28-year-old Dutch right-back who has 13 senior caps for his country.

His contract with Atalanta runs to June 2024 and he was picked up from FC Groningen in January 2017 for just €1m.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Nottingham Forest have made an offer to sign Hateboer on loan with obligation to buy if they secure Premier League safety for a total of €8m.

It is being considered, especially as Brandon Soppy has just arrived from Udinese, while Sergio Reguilon is a potential swap from Tottenham Hotspur for Malinovskyi.

Despite scoring in last night’s 1-1 draw with Milan and receiving a standing ovation from fans begging the club not to sell, Malinovskyi remains on the market with a €20m price-tag.

Nottingham Forest are interested, but Tottenham remain the favourites ahead of Olympique Marseille.
