Not only Milan: Another Serie A club spoke to Danjuma before Everton move

Arnaut Danjuma has joined Everton on loan from Villarreal, but both Milan and Atalanta had reportedly held talks with the 26-year-old before he signed for the Toffees.

The Premiere League side confirmed Danjuma’s acquisition on Sunday. Milan had been in advanced talks with Villarreal earlier this week, but according to Calciomercato.com, Atalanta were also interested in the ex-Tottenham loanee.

La Dea are looking for a potential replacement for Rasmus Hojlund who has been targeted by European giants PSG and Manchester United. However, their asking price for the Denmark international is circa €70m.

Milan are still negotiating with Villarreal for Danjuma’s ex-teammate Samuel Chukwueze. The Rossoneri hope to secure the winger’s signature at the beginning of next week.

The Serie A giants have dropped Danjuma and signed Noah Okafor instead. The Swiss international has already signed a contract until June 2028 with the Serie A giants and is now travelling to the USA where he will join his new teammates for the Soccer Champions Tour.
