Milan and Napoli are ready to fight for glory in the Champions League quarter-finals and are also gearing up for a battle in the summer transfer window.

The two sides are in the same side of the Champions League bracket as Inter, who secured a 2-0 win over Benfica in their first leg outing, setting up another possible Serie A derby in the semi-finals.

Milan flew to an unexpected 4-0 win away to Napoli in the league earlier this month, a match that could give some clues to their battle in the Champions League quarter-finals.

As detailed by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan and Napoli both share a number of transfer targets ahead of the summer window, with one example being Argentine-Italian striker Mateo Retegui.

Tommaso Baldanzi is another player appreciated by both clubs and Napoli are keen to beat out Milan for his signature, so have already started preparing for an approach to Empoli.

Also at the centre of interest is Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic, who has impressed Milan and Napoli with his work in Serie A since his arrival in August 2021.

Both clubs are looking to pick up young talents who can grow alongside the sporting project, as well as any interesting opportunities, like Wolves’ Adama Traore, who has been offered to both.
