Multiple cities in the United States and Canada have expressed interest in hosting the Supercoppa Italiana, giving the UAE some competition.

Tuttosport detail how several cities in North America are keen to host the competition from the 2023-24 season onwards, when the contract with Saudi Arabia ends. The last Supercoppa Italiana to be hosted there will be between Milan and Inter next winter.

Among the cities interested are New York, Boston, Miami and Montreal, all of whom are keen on hosting a dry final. This is a different option than the Final Four idea proposed by the UAE, who have already presented an offer worth €22m per season for five years with this formula, one which is now used in Spain.

The UAE offer is more valuable on paper but Lega Sere A are also evaluating the commercial opportunities that could develop in North America, keen to further expand in the market, seen with their new offices in New York.

  1. I’d prefer this supercoppa to be played in San Siro, since 2 sides are from Milan. Next supercoppas where no Milan or no Inter or both go to UAE or North America or Mars. 😛

  2. Really need to get more interest in serie a in USA. It will never match premier league but better tv contracts mean more money, better players etc.
