Noel Gallagher hopes that Manchester City reach the Champions League Final and play against Inter, because they ‘aren’t very good and Romelu Lukaku is dreadful.’

The leader of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and founder of Oasis has always been very proud of his support for the Citizens, even before they became successful with the takeover of the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008 and consequent massive investment.

Currently in Italy on tour, Gallagher sat down with Sky Sport Italia to talk about the Champions League and City’s hopes of finally lifting the trophy.

“We’ve got Bayern Munich, then probably Real Madrid and then an Italian team in the Final. I think this could be the year, especially as we’ve got Haaland,” said the singer and songwriter.

However, he won’t be able to attend the Champions League Final due to “bad planning” because his band will be in San Diego on tour.

If he had to choose between one of the Italian opponents for Manchester City, who would he prefer?

“If you ask who I’d prefer, well I’d prefer Inter, because they aren’t very good. Lukaku is dreadful. Then AC Milan, because Napoli are a bit better. I think Napoli would be the best Final, because of the fans and the noise.

“All the Italian teams have a good atmosphere really. But if I have to choose, because they’re not very good, I’d choose Inter Milan.”

Inter got through the group with Bayern Munich and Barcelona, while they have a 2-0 lead from the first leg of the quarter-final away to Benfica.

Milan beat Napoli 1-0 and the decider is at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona tomorrow evening.

  1. Such arrogance. Before the UAE money they were a nothing club. And they haven’t reached the final yet either.
