There was another scare in Serie B today, as Marco Pomante collapsed during Nocerina-Reggina, but does not seem to be in danger.

Just two minutes into the second half of this afternoon’s match in Nocera, local player Pomante collapsed with no contact.

He was conscious throughout, had a collar strapped to his neck and was taken away in an ambulance. The game continued.

Reports from the hospital suggest Pomante took a knock to the throat a few minutes earlier and subsequently had some difficulty breathing with symptoms of whiplash, but is not in danger.

The incident occurred just a week after Piermario Morosini died during the Serie B Pescara-Livorno match.

All players went on to the field today wearing Morosini’s number 25 jersey and held a minute’s silence.

There was a particularly moving moment for Vicenza player Davide Gavazzi, who scored the equaliser against Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”19″>Sampdoria and burst into tears during the celebration, as he had been Morosini's friend and teammate.

That same match also saw the defibrillators in the stadium used to help a spectator who suffered a heart attack.
