Roma forward Nicolò Zaniolo has not suffered a serious injury and should be available for the match against Sassuolo this weekend.

The attacking midfielder has returned to the Italian capital and underwent instrumental tests after returning from the Italy squad with a bruised thigh.

Sky Sport Italia reports Zaniolo has not suffered a serious injury, as the tests didn’t reveal any serious damage to the thigh.

Zaniolo, who has recently returned from his second ACL rupture, should thus be in contention to play when Sassuolo arrive at the Olimpico this weekend.

The Neroverdi travel to Rome on Sunday for the third Serie A game in 2021-22, facing a Roma side full of confidence after a perfect start to the new campaign.

Jose Mourinho’s men are unbeaten in their first four games and should have Lorenzo Pellegrini available too, while waiting to learn if Matias Vina can participate after returning with a knock from his international duty with Uruguay.
