Sevilla sporting director Joaquin Caparros denies Steven N’Zonzi is on his way to Roma, but TMW Web reports personal terms have already been agreed.

The French midfielder has been linked with a move to the Giallorossi as the Stadio Olimpico club continue their busy summer of transfer activity.

Caparros’ Roma counterpart Monchi signed N’Zonzi for Sevilla from Stoke City in 2015 and is keen on a reunion with the 29-year-old in the Italian capital.

But speaking to Spanish media, Caparros insisted he had not spoken to Monchi.

“Is there an agreement between Roma and N’Zonzi? There is nothing," he said.

“I have not had any contact with Monchi at all.”

Despite Caparros’ denial, TMW claims N’Zonzi has already agreed personal terms with the Giallorossi.

According to the sports news website, the only thing standing in the way of the deal is an agreement over the size of a transfer fee.

World Cup winner N’Zonzi has a release clause of €35m in his contract with the La Liga club, but Roma are said to want to pay around €10m less.
