Roma managing director Mauro Baldissoni sees no reason to move the derby with Lazio but ‘it’s up to the Lega’.

The Derby della Capitale has been moved to Monday evening, after Lazio complained they were disadvantaged by playing the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday.

“It's always been the Lega [Serie A] who make the decisions when there's a match to be played,” Baldissoni told reporters at a conference in Frosinone.

“It would appear they have decided to move the game. I don't think I've seen a reason given for postponing it though. What can I say? You know how football works.

“I could say that it's in the interest of Serie A to sell itself properly abroad and attract interest. And I don't think moving such an important game to Monday does that.

“I could say it's probably not in the interests of those who invest money in the game, buying the TV rights in Italy and abroad.

“It might not be in the interests of the fans who have bought a ticket and who perhaps can't go to the game on Monday.

“Then there's the interests of the city itself, which will see an area understandably closed off for reasons of public order on a week day.

“There have always been cup games on Wednesday and league matches on Sunday and no one has ever thought it strange. Juventus are playing on Wednesday too and they'll be back in action on Saturday.

“I could go on for hours and hours but I'd just be telling you things you know already.

“As I said, when there's a game to play it's up to the Lega to decide and Roma will turn up at the time that's been decided and go out there to win it."
