There has been little progress in Napoli’s attempts to tie down Fabian Ruiz to a new deal, with Juventus and Barcelona closely monitoring the situation.
The 26-year-old Spaniard’s current contract expires with the Partenopei at the end of next season and they’re keen to extend his contract, not wanting to lose him on a free transfer next summer. The midfielder was a core part of Luciano Spalletti’s squad in the Campania capital this campaign.
As reported by La Repubblica, Napoli have reportedly offered Fabian Ruiz a five-year deal worth €3.5m net per season, but this hasn’t convinced the 26-year-old. Talks between the two parties have stalled and there’s now a genuine risk that he could leave on a free transfer next year.
Barcelona and Juventus are both keeping a close eye on the situation, interested in a possible move for the Spanish midfielder.
Fabian Ruiz made 38 appearance across all competitions this season for Napoli, for a total of 2800 minutes. In that time, he scored seven goals and provided five assists.
