Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini says he has no regrets about selling Antonio Nocerino to Milan last summer.

The Italian international joined the Rossoneri just hours before the transfer window closed in a deal that saw the Sicilian club net just €500,000.

“I’m not biting my hands over Nocerino,” President Zamparini told Mediagol. “I’m actually very happy for him.

“He already had an agreement with Milan, even if we offered him a new contract on more than one occasion.

“He’s doing really well and better than even the most optimistic predictions. However, it’s easier to play in midfield for Milan than it is at Palermo.”

Palermo cashed in on him rather than lose him on a Bosman free transfer to the Rossoneri in June 2012.

The 27-year-old has been a revelation at San Siro, scoring 10 goals in 33 League games so far this term. Palermo’s top scorer in Serie A this season is Fabrizio Miccoli with 13.
