According to multiple reports, there is no agreement between Igli Tare and Milan following today’s meeting, but he is edging closer to becoming their new director of sport.
It is confirmed that Tare met with CEO Giorgio Furlani in Rome this afternoon, their first face to face encounter after previous phone conversations.
The former Lazio chief had already met with both consultant Zlatan Ibrahimovic and club owner Gerry Cardinale in London back in February.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sky Sport Italia and more are all confident that while no decision has been reached, this was a positive meeting that prompted both Milan and Tare to further pursue the details of an agreement.
Much remains to be seen, from the strategy going forward to the length and terms of the contract.
Milan leaning towards Tare for director of sport

Tare would command a lower salary than the one requested by Fabio Paratici, who had been on the verge of signing on until the sudden collapse of negotiations.
The Albanian is now expected to meet with RedBird majority shareholder Cardinale again, but Furlani is ultimately expected to make the final decision.
Another reason why Tare is preferred to other options is that he is a free agent, after his experience at Lazio closed by mutual consent in 2023.
