Joseph DaGrosa’s right-hand man has refused to comment on speculation linking the former Bordeaux owner with Roma.

La Repubblica revealed this morning that DaGrosa had shown an interest in buying Roma after Dan Friedkin seemingly pulled out.

SiamoLaRoma.it caught up with Hugo Varela, who serves as an advisor and business partner to the American, and he could only issue a ‘no comment’.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t comment on this so I won’t comment,” Varela told the website.

DaGrosa manages private equity firms MapleWood Partners, 1848 Capital Partners, and General American Capital Partners.

The 55-year-old purchased Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in November 2018 but sold up a year later.
