According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ciprian Tatarusanu was the best Milan player against Torino last night, but nine of his teammates, including Pierre Kalulu and Charles De Ketelaere, were not up to the task.

The defending Serie A champions were knocked out of the Coppa on Wednesday night despite being one man up for 50 minutes.

Stefano Pioli rotated, starting Matteo Gabbia, Aster Vranckx, Sergino Dest and De Ketelaere who played as a classic centre forward.

Most Milan players failed to impress, including Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud, Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer, who were introduced in the second half. They were all rated 5/10 by Gazzetta, the same rating as Gabbia, Vranckx and Pobega, while Kalulu was the worst player on the pitch, with a rating of 4.5/10.

Torino midfielder Michel Adopo outpaced the French defender, scoring the winner for the Granata.

De Ketelaere, Milan’s most expensive signing last summer, hit the post in the first half but ‘showed nothing’ for several minutes, noted Gazzetta in today’s Pagelle.

Milan ratings: Tatarusanu 6.5; Kalulu 4.5, Gabbia 5, Tomori 5.5; Saelemaekers 6, Vranckx 5, Tonali 5.5, Pobega 5, Dest; Diaz 6; De Ketelaere 5. Reserves: Messias 6, Leao, Giroud, Theo, Bennacer 5.
