Nine Atalanta fans have been identified and punished for shouting racist abuse at Dusan Vlahovic during Juventus’ recent 2-0 win.

The 23-year-old Serbian striker was loudly abused at the Gewiss Stadium during their Serie A clash on May 7, with a seemingly large number of attending fans racially abusing and insulting the centre forward.

Vlahovic scored a late goal to seal Juventus’ win in Bergamo and only slightly responded in his celebration, a move that earnt him a booking, drawing parallels with the incident involving Romelu Lukaku in Inter’s Coppa Italia clash with the Bianconeri last month.

As highlighted by Goal Italia, Bergamo authorities have handed nine Daspo measures against as many Atalanta fans following the racist abuse suffered by Vlahovic in Juventus’ 2-0 win, leading to fines and stadium bans.

For two fans, in addition to the Daspo, a request will be made for them to have to register when Atalanta are playing, considering that they’ve already been responsible for violent acts at previous football matches.

Investigations are reportedly ongoing to identify more fans who took part in the racial abuse, with the number of culprits undoubtedly being far higher than just nine.
