Salernitana coach Davide Nicola warns they will face Juventus ‘with respect, but not fear or reverence’ in Turin after already taking points off Milan.

It kicks off on Sunday at 14.00 GMT at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Lys Mousset has been added to the injury list with a knee sprain, but Franck Ribery, Simone Verdi, Ederson and Diego Perotti return.

They remain rock bottom, yet recently held Milan and Sassuolo to draws.

“When you face such a strong team as Juventus, with a winning mentality, motivation is automatic,” said the coach in his press conference.

“Just like when we held Inter in Milan, tomorrow we need courage mixed with balance. The press will be fundamental and I expect a lot from Salernitana.

“This game can help us improve our mentality, as we want to be competitive in any arena and against any opponent. There’s no time to make calculations.”

Manuel Locatelli is out after testing positive for COVID, leaving Juventus with a decimated midfield.

“They have players who can adapt and fill in, as we’ve already seen Danilo play as a midfielder or Alvaro Morata go wide in the build-up. We’re wary of Juve, of course, but having said that, Salernitana are focused on building their path towards the objective.

“We have 11 games left to play, so 33 points up for grabs. The only way we can aim high is to put in the performance we want. Juventus are a very strong side, but surprises are always around the corner in Serie A.

“Juventus struggled at the start of the season, but not lately. I wouldn’t worry too much about the Champions League exit to Villarreal, as the Bianconeri had played better before the opening goal.

“We want to respect our opponents, but without fear or reverence.”
