This is a very special fixture for Nicola, who only spent one season at hometown club Torino as a player in 2005-06, but never disguised his love for the Granata.

When saving Crotone from a seemingly impossible situation to stay in Serie A, he celebrated with a bike ride from the stadium in Crotone – Calabria – to the Stadio Grande Torino.

“I am forced to hold off my emotions until after the match, then I’ll be able to see old friends and feel more at home,” said Nicola in his Press conference.

“What matters first and foremost is Udinese. We need points and have to make life difficult for our opponents. People talk about Toro as if they are in crisis, but they are still in ninth place.”

Udinese, however, are struggling with only 19 points in 22 rounds, leaving them two points clear of the relegation zone.

“The results of the last three years at Udinese have not been great, but we are still on the right path, the same one as always, which makes us discover new talents and get the best out of them.”
