La Dea put seven past Torino in their last outing, and Nicola expects a difficult game.

“A very tough game awaits us, I’ve seen the boys grow during the week,” said Nicola in his press conference.

“Yet at the same time, it is an opportunity to see our own growth on a tactical level.”

Nicola states that the Rossoblu will need to be alert throughout the entire game against a team that can score at will.

“It would almost be obvious to say that it is fundamental to stay switched on. From understanding the game to the ability to recognise the moments when you need to be more dangerous.

“We for our part must have the mentality to go, to play and to score. I believe that our mission is to try and do well in every area of the field.”

With the transfer window closing on Friday, Nicola was asked how he handles such a week.

“I only speak from a technical point of view, it’s addressed by increasing everyone’s attention and involvement.

“I try to train everyone in the same way. The boys are responding a lot from this point of view.

“Many players have arrived and several have left. We are convinced that this team has its worth. The fact that our players have had requests from important teams must make us aware that they are valued.

“At the moment, once the market is over, there is no individuality. There is only the mission of Genoa.”

Juric says that he is happy with how the club performed in the January transfer window.

“I am happy with what we managed to do, in our condition it is even more difficult. We refused requests for some of our players and we have raised the level of the team.”
