“I think the fact we are a novelty to Serie A represents an advantage, as the opposition can’t study us and haven’t yet attributed characteristics to our squad,” said the Coach.

“We have studied Bologna carefully and know they have quality, but we mustn’t let ourselves get intimidated. Crotone have their identity and players who want to prove themselves in the top flight.

“We’ve got to play open football with courage, not sit back and wait for our opponents.”

Crotone were promoted in second place behind Cagliari, having topped the table for most of the campaign.

They have been transformed since then, bringing in many new players and losing tactician Ivan Juric to Genoa.

“We must go into every stadium to play our game and not just focus on limiting the opposition,” continued Nicola.

“We need to play without fear. We’re in good shape physically and just need the same level of determination that we showed in the second half against Verona.”

Although Crotone fought back, they were eliminated from the Coppa Italia with a 2-1 result away to Hellas Verona.
