Speaking ahead of today’s important clash with third-from-bottom Genoa, Nicola praised his side’s development of late.

“What matters is we have shown the right mentality. This is part of the development process of this team.”

Genoa arrive in Calabria having replaced Ivan Juric with Davide Ballardini as Coach during the international break.

“We face a team who used the break to make a change, so we prepared the match just based on ourselves.

“We can’t select which matches to perform in, we have to try to get points in every game.

“My players are taking forward their work, which has seen them improve mentally and in their conviction.”
