FiorentinaInter was halted for a minute on Sunday after a pitch invader reached Lautaro Martinez to get a selfie in the middle of the pitch, while Nico Gonzalez was confident the Tuscans would get a penalty kick after a VAR check and waited for the referee’s decision holding the ball in his hands.

Football Italia was among the accredited media at the Stadio Franchi on Sunday for Inter’s 1-0 victory over Fiorentina, which allowed Simone Inzaghi’s men to return to the top of the Serie A table with a game in hand.

Here are three things you missed by watching the Fiorentina-Inter game on TV.

Pitch invader

The second half had just begun when a pitch invader entered the field at the Stadio Franchi, finding a way through the stewards behind the benches. It was initially shown on TV, but then, as it always happens in these situations, the camera quickly cut away. What was not visible on TV is that the pitch invader approached Inter captain Lautaro Martinez and had time to pull out a phone from his pocket and take a selfie with the Argentinean star before being taken off the pitch by the Franchi stewards.

Nico Gonzalez

Fiorentina had a massive chance to equalise in the second half through Nico Gonzalez who had been introduced as a substitute only a few minutes earlier. Referee Gianluca Aureliano needed a VAR check to see a Yann Sommer foul on Mbala Nzola, and while the official was reviewing the incident at a pitchside monitor, Nico waited inside the pitch, keeping the ball in his hands. The Argentinean had no doubt Aureliano would give a penalty to Fiorentina, but he missed his chance with a weak attempt from the spot, comfortably saved by Sommer on his right.

Sensi’s last shot on target

Stefano Sensi was an unused substitute at the Stadio Franchi, but the Italian midfielder warmed up with his teammates before kick-off. The ex-Monza and Sampdoria loanee is expected to join Leicester City today, so last night’s training session at the Stadio Franchi was the last one as an Inter player for the Italian midfielder. Sensi trained at a slow pace and produced one final shot on target before leaving the field. The 28-year-old kicked the ball inside an empty net in front of the Curva Fiesole before entering the tunnel at the Stadio Franchi, making his final touch as a Nerazzurri player.
