Inter midfielder Cesare Casadei is becoming the centre of a bidding war, as Chelsea risk being beaten to the punch by OGC Nice.

The 19-year-old has not yet played for the senior squad, but is the captain of the Primavera youth team and an Italy Under-19 international.

The Nerazzurri had tried to resist all offers to sell the youth product, but are reportedly prepared to make a sale at over €15m.

Chelsea had been the absolute favourites, but this evening Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims that OGC Nice are ready to make an even higher offer for Casadei.

It is turning into a pure bidding war for the young Italian talent, who had already been approached by Chelsea as part of the negotiations bringing Romelu Lukaku back to San Siro.

He is under contract with the Nerazzurri until June 2024 and if Inter do manage to resist selling Casadei, he will likely be promoted to the senior squad under Simone Inzaghi instead.

  1. This potential sale is such a shame & just goes to show how much money Inter has wasted on overpaid s*** that they need to sell a young starlet to fund the rest. Sad times.

  2. It’s a shame a top Italian team has to sell there best young player for peanuts just to keep the bills paid. You can bet your bottom dollar if he was at Milan he would be in and around the 1st team already. When are teams like Inter and Juve gonna learn!

  3. Why would you write such a misleading title Susy?

There is NO BID from Nice for the moment, only interest.
