According to the newspaper, the Spartak deal was worth €23m, and would have seen Niang double his wages to €3m per season.

However, he wants to reunite with Sinisa Mihajlovic, the Granata Coach under whom he played his best football for Milan.

Toro are offering a loan with obligation to buy worth €12m, just over half the value of the offer from Russia.

Niang isn’t training, having been signed off for 10 days with stress.
