After Milan interest, now Newcastle United are also said to be pursuing Scottish full-back Aaron Hickey of Bologna.

The left-back is 19 years old and has made a definite impression in his two Serie A campaigns.

It has been a very prolific season for him so far, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 27 matches for his club.

Hickey was purchased from Hearts of Midlothian for only €1.7m in the summer of 2020 and is under contract until June 2024.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Guardian transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United have set their sights on Hickey for next term.

The asking price remains at least €20m and this report comes just days after suggestions Milan had tried to pressure Hickey into leaving Bologna.

They would see him as an understudy to Theo Hernandez and seem to be heading for Champions League qualification.

On the other hand, Newcastle would be closer to home and he might get more regular playing time there.
