There are reports in England that Newcastle United will attempt a January swoop for Inter hitman Edin Dzeko.

The 35-year-old Bosnia international is unlikely to leave the Nerazzurri mid-season, having only just joined as a free agent from Roma over the summer.

His goals have helped take Simone Inzaghi’s side to the top of the Serie A table and they will face Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are prepared to spend big in order to bring Dzeko back to the Premier League, a trophy he won with Manchester City.

However, Inter aren’t going to consider letting the veteran go, as he has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 23 appearances this season between Serie A and the Champions League.

Newcastle were taken over by Saudi Arabian investment fund PIF, but have only one Premier League victory so far this term and are in penultimate place.

  1. On what planet does this make sense? “Hey, do you want to win the Scudetto in sunny Milano, or fight a relegation battle in the north of England?”

If PIF buy Inter, then sure, they can have Dzeko, Vecino, Handanovic, Sanchez even! But not Gagliardini! Not even for 20m! (this is a joke, shhh don’t tell Newcastle I’m joking)

  2. lol Newcastle ???
they’ve been absolute rubbish and an irrelevant club for past 16 years.
ya sure your not confusing them with Man U or Arsenal ?

  3. Newcastle are going to be relegated and nobody with any dignity will want to play in the second tier of English football. I have no idea why PIF would invest in that part of the UK. It is grim, dark and pours down with rain all day. No wonder why they are called the magpies.

  4. Anybone can write up wish-lists, that has nothing to do with reality.

Daily Mail is a trash source as far as I know, can we please stick to Italian papers (except Tuttosh1t)?

    What are magpies known for?

Magpies are birds known for their bold personality and intelligence. They are also well-known for their calls and songs. Many birds have a song or a few calls, but magpies chatter, whistle, trill, and warble. These birds have even been known to mimic sounds around them such as wind chimes or a dog’s barking.

    Is Magpie a good bird?

They are regular killers of the eggs and chicks of some small birds in the garden. They appear to go about their grim business with a certain ruthlessness, and frequently perform their worst in front of horrified householders’ eyes.

    Why are magpies bad?

The evilness of magpies is not just limited only to religious superstitions and the bird is also associated with the devil and its pied plumage associated with evil and bad fortune. Magpies are also known for stealing shiny objects (like jewellery) and can deceive others, therefore, the attribution of being evil.

    LOL
