Newcastle United are looking to sign Merih Demiral this summer and their interest in the Turkish defender is starting to heat up.
The 24-year-old Turkish defender had a decent season out on loan with Atalanta, who can make his stay in Bergamo permanent for around €20m, a fairly significant investment. His future is still unclear as la Dea haven’t made a decision yet regarding the signing and if they do then they could still put him on the market immediately.
As reported by Tuttosport, Newcastle are continuing to push for Demiral and aren’t planning to give up any time soon. The next few days will be decisive for the Turkish defender as it’ll become clear whether or not he’ll return to Juventus, who are also likely to transfer list the 24-year-old.
Newcastle are looking to strengthen Eddie Howe’s squad this summer as they continue their slow growth following the recent PIF takeover.
