Nine people involved in the construction of Roma’s new stadium have been arrested for alleged acts of corruption.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports the arrests have come as part of a criminal investigation by the Public Prosecutors’ Office in Rome.
Among those detained are stadium contractor Luca Parnasi, Vice-President of Lazio Regional Council Adriano Palozzi and Luca Lanzalone, President of energy and water supply company Acea.

It comes just a day after mayor Virginia Raggi tweeted the stadium, tentatively named Stadio della Roma and which is due to be built over the former Tor di Valle racecourse, was getting ‘closer and closer’.
