Simone Inzaghi will set a new record if he and his Inter side beat rivals Milan in Serie A on Sunday, as neither the Nerazzurri nor the Rossoneri have won seven derbies in a row against each other.

Inter can break new record against Milan

Inter have won their last six meetings against their city rivals, Milan, including four in the 2022-23 season.

The Nerazzurri rose to a resounding 5-1 victory four games into the Serie A season last term, and also picked up a 2-1 victory ‘away’ against Milan in April, which mathematically confirmed the Scudetto.

The season before, in 2022-23, Inter won both legs of the Champions League semi-final, a 2-0 in the first leg and a 1-0 in the second. They also recorded a 1-0 win in Serie A in February 2023, plus a 3-0 victory in the Supercoppa Italiana final the month prior.

Inzaghi will have a chance to make it a record-breaking seven victories in a row when the two teams meet again in San Siro this Sunday.

Milan, meanwhile, require nothing less than a convincing victory over their rivals if coach Paulo Fonseca has any hope of keeping his job.
