Sky Sport Italia reports that Roma and Sassuolo directors met again this morning to negotiate Davide Frattesi’s move to the Stadio Olimpico.

The Italy international is Roma’s priority target in midfield after the signing of Nemanja Matic from Manchester United.

Frattesi is pushing to return to his former club, but Sassuolo have yet to reach an agreement with Roma.

According to Sky Sport Italia, a new meeting between the directors of the two clubs – Tiago Pinto and Giovanni Carnevali – took place this morning in Rimini.

The two parties have taken ‘small steps forward’ toward the agreement, but the deal is not done yet.

Roma have reportedly offered €20m plus some young players, including Cristian Volpato, but Sassuolo want more also considering that Roma own 30% of any future sale of Frattesi.

“We have a very good rapport with Roma, we’ve done several deals together, so if Roma really want to sign this important young man who is already in the national team, they need to match the value that we have given him,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia on Thursday.
