Juventus are expected to be without defender Danilo for this weekend’s showdown with Fiorentina after an injury relapse.

The Brazilian had hoped to make his comeback at the Stadio Artemio Franchi after picking up the injury on international duty against Venezuela last month.

He sustained a low-grade tear to the femoral bicep in the left thigh and was expected to be out for circa three weeks.

Danilo felt a twinge in training on Tuesday and Sky Sport Italia report that today he is still not working with the rest of the players in the squad.

This makes it very unlikely he will be fit for this weekend against Fiorentina in Serie A and he remains in doubt for the following fixture against Cagliari too.

Timothy Weah, Alex Sandro and Mattia De Sciglio are also out of action, with Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli suspended.

Danilo made eight Serie A appearances for Juve this season, scoring one goal.
