New England Revolution are the latest MLS side to look to Serie A as they work to sign Juventus forward Giacomo Vrioni.

The 23-year-old Albanian forward joined the Bianconeri in January 2020 from Sampdoria in a deal worth around €3.9m. After spending six months with the Under-23 squad, Vrioni joined Austrian side WSG Tirol on a season-long loan, where he scored 21 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Vrioni is now on the verge of completing a permanent transfer to MLS side New England Revolution, who will pay Juventus around €4m for the 23-year-old.

The move makes sense following Vrioni’s successful spell on loan in Austria as he was unlikely to break into the Juventus first team and he’s clearly too talented to remain relegated in the Under-23 squad.

The 23-year-old has already made six caps for the Albanian national team, although he’s yet to net his first goal for his country.
