The Italian Football Federation’s board are due to meet at noon Italian time today, but focus is on a pre-meeting that outgoing President Giancarlo Abete will reportedly call between the Presidents of the various components of Italian football.

FIGC Vice-President Demetrio Albertini, League President Maurizio Beretta, Serie B President Andrea Abodi, Amateur League President Carlo Tavecchio, Pro League boss Mario Macalli, Players’ Union chief Damiano Tommasi, Coaches’ President Renzo Ulivieri and Referees’ President Marcello Nicchi are among those expected to attend a meeting that will reportedly discuss the hiring of the next Italy CT to replace Prandelli.

However, whilst this collection is seen as a commission of sorts to determine such a choice, it is believed that Tavecchio, Macalli and Ulivieri will lead calls that the new CT is selected by Abete’s replacement as FIGC President.

With a new FIGC President currently not due to be voted in until August 11, it means a potential further wait to learn who the new Azzurri head Coach may be.
