After Fiorentina confessed “it’s not looking good” for Norberto Neto’s contract, the goalkeeper could join Roma or Liverpool next month.

His current deal expires at the end of the season, but patron Andrea Della Valle gave an update to fans and reporters yesterday.

“Neto is difficult to pin down,” said Della Valle. Neto has reportedly turned down a three-year contract worth €1.5m per season.

His current deal expires at the end of the season, but patron Andrea Della Valle gave an update to fans and reporters yesterday.

“Neto is difficult to pin down,” said Della Valle. Neto has reportedly turned down a three-year contract worth €1.5m per season.

“I hope that he won’t abandon us, but the situation doesn’t look good to me. There is something not right.

“If that really is the case, it would be a huge let-down, as I always defended him. I hope that I am wrong.”

Neto had been repeatedly linked with Liverpool, but Roma are also very close to the Brazilian shot-stopper.

Considering Roma are Fiorentina’s rivals for European places, it’s possible the Viola will push Neto towards Liverpool rather than reinforce another Serie A side.
