Former Milan centre-back Alessandro Nesta believes the Rossoneri are ready to fight for the Scudetto. ‘They are on the right path’.

The 45-year-old spent 10 years as a player at Milan – moving from Lazio in August 2002 – and played 326 competitive games with the Rossoneri.

Nesta picked up two Scudetti, two Champions League and one Coppa Italia during his time at San Siro and the former Frosinone coach believes Milan are ready to fight for another title in the top flight.

“Milan are challengers for the Scudetto,” he told Corriere della Seria. “Maybe they don’t start as favourites, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, on the contrary.

“The truth is that there are many teams who can win this year. One thing is certain: they are on the right path.”

Milan finished second in 2020-21, 12 points behind champions and local rivals Inter.

  1. You can count the years, but I’m pretty sure Ibra and Giroud will just be counting the goals. I can’t think of a pair of Serie A strikers I would guarantee will get more goals than them this season.

Well, maybe Zapata and Muriel? Osimhen and Insigne might, but I definitely wouldn’t put money on it.
